Laos

Picture in prospective of some Buddha statues in a temple in Vientiane, Laos. The statues represent Buddha is a seated position and they are all of an orange to brownish color. The wall behind the statues has a lot of "holes" containing smaller Buddha statues, which are not visible in this picture. On a lower level there are some smaller, bronze statues of Buddha in different poses.

Laos, a predominantly Buddhist country, is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang, which impressed us with its important cultural traditions. We explored thick jungles, visited imperious waterfalls and enjoyed the constant presence of the Mekong River. Landlocked Laos has way more than its scenery.
